Dear Renee, Carrie, and Kayla;

I am so sorry for your loss.

My memories of Bob second what my Dad wrote: they are the many OC baton parades, at Notre Dame for Nationals and that one year at the disgusting Weston Hotel, and the local competitions. We would occupy our time away from watching the events playing basketball (Bob, Carrie, my Dad and I…when there was a court) and discussing many random topics.
I also remember a few parties you and Bob hosted at your house. You guys also had us up for meals a few times. These memories I’ll always cherish! Bob made the baton competitions and parades fun with his sense of humor. Oh yeah and going to Steak and Shake in Elkhart a few times around Nationals. We still talk about the fun times and remember his laugh.

Bob was a funny dude with many good qualities. He will be sorely missed.

I worked with Bob on and off during our NIST career. I spoke with him shortly before his retirement. We had a lot of catching up to do as we hadn’t connected in a while. During this conversation he shared what he was going through. One of the things he said stuck with me. In essence he said take the leap/step as life is too short. I did a lot of reflection after this conversation and ended up following his advice. I decided not to hold off doing what I wanted and needed to do instead of “waiting for the right time.” So thank you! You will be missed. M. Bratten

I'm so sorry for your family's loss and saddened that Bob left this world much too soon. I will always remember the fun times we had all watching WWF wrestling and drinking tea (what a combination!) Bob was a caring friend and neighbor who listened and encouraged with a teasing laugh for how the world is sometimes and you couldn't help but chuckle along. I know he's making heaven an even brighter place to be like he did while he was here. ❤️✨️

I remember the day he got on my daughter's horse and made the mistake and said gitty up.Well she did like he said LOL!!;My kids were little and running behind Bobby, they kept yelling hold on meatball. That's what they called him. Poor Bobby was flopping all around,😳 but he didn't fall off. Anyone who would have seen this would have died laughing. I'm going to miss you Bobby Gene🤧

Renee, Carrie, Kayla, and Family,
There are no words I could say that would ease your pain right now. I just want you to know we are all holding you close to our hearts and are here to help you bear this horrendous heartache.
Bob was always bigger than life! His sense of humor always had me in stitches. Right up to his last day, he was still making me laugh. He will forever hold a special place in both mine and Chris' hearts.
Going to Jennette's and seeing the turtle, will forever bring a tear to my eye but a smile to my heart. I know he will be right there casting out a line, smiling with us, enjoying the sunshine and sea air.
He left this world way too soon, but oh how lucky we all were to have had him in our lives!!! For that Renee, I thank you for choosing him to be your partner in this life! And oh how he loved you so!!!! You, the girls and those sweet grandbabies, were his world!!!
Until we are all together again our friend, we will remember the good times, watch over your girls and laugh the way you would want us all to! We love and will miss you Bob!!!
