Dad, I’m sure going to miss you. So many memories fill my head. I will always cherish our many fishing trips together. Especially when we went to a New Hampshire cabin by a lake. We went on a canoe and caught countless catfish. I remember how excited you were! I will also remember how when you went on a business trip you would come back with a rose and candy for me, when I was a small child. Countless memories fill my head.

One thing about you that is so unique from other fathers is that there was never a dull moment with you. Even having a conversation with you was interesting. Your granddaughters always had so much fun with you I know now as teens it was different. Thank you for being a wonderful grandfather to them.

To my Stepdad Rich Peltz. Thank you for stepping in and stepping up for me and my family, but, most importantly, for my Mom. You made her so happy and you were both such great friends. I am so glad you found each other and a part of our lives. When I saw you during my visit around Memorial Day you understood it was likely the last. As unfortunate the situation was, we also had the opportunity to spend time together, go fishing and a car show one last time; and to say goodbye. Although we all wish you were here longer, I think you had a full and wonderful life, and were really quite lucky. We all will never forget you and we will miss your presence, laughter, and sense of humor. Miss and love you, Dan and family.

Pappy, I miss you and I love you so much. Your sense of humor was like no other and I will never forget the wonderful memories we shared in Hawaii with Grandma. There are still jokes of yours that we quote to this day! I’m so glad that I got to share a dance with you at Dad’s wedding and see you laugh & have such a ball. You will always be remembered as a wonderful, kind, hilarious, and special grandfather - I wish we had more time together. I love you and Grandma very much. I'm not sure exactly when Rich became "Pappy" to my kids. He married Dan's mom Wanda when they were small and he stepped right in to the role of "Pappy Rich". They came out to Hawaii to visit one summer during his birthday week. They helped me with a dozen or so chores during that time. He and Wanda helped me dig a hole and then plant a tree (the two of them gardening all the way across the Pacific ocean), sort and then take a load of recyclables and trash to the dump, tidy up my yard and still take time to play pirate with the kids in their plastic pool. He made a plank for them to walk..he joined in to "test it", make sure it was pirate-worthy, he egged them on to have a splash contest, and to see who could swim across the pool fastest. He was fun. He spent time with them. He listened and delighted in them and they felt that. He gave us so much joy.

After we finished at the dump, Rich looked at me and said...in that kind of exasperated..(but he wasn't really)...way he had, "Are we done saving the world now??!!? Can we please go to the beach. I mean I came ALL this way!!!"
I teased back and told him "Oh Rich...you're having the time of your life!" and then he rolled his eyes for real. We went to the beach and then came back to the house and celebrated his birthday with Kielbasa and Pabst and a birthday cake. It was a great day and a memory I will cherish for the rest of mine.

Thanks for love, the good times, the LAUGHS and being our "Pap".
We loved every minute with you Rich.

Pappy was a kind hearted man with a wicked sense of humor. He always had a joke at the ready or a story to share. My siblings and I shared many laughs with him and beloved conversations. We were so lucky to have him as our grandfather, and will miss him dearly.
I love you Pappy, thank you for all of the wonderful memories!
