It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark James Dagro, a loving son, devoted father, and cherished friend. Mark departed this world on June 8, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unforgettable memories.
Born on July 6, 1955, in Brooklyn, New York, Mark was the beloved son of Frances Mary Dagro and the late James John Dagro. He grew up in a close-knit family along with his sister Karen Lario, where he learned the values of hard work, integrity, and unconditional love. Mark's love for his family was evident throughout his life, and his presence will be deeply missed.
Mark is survived by his two children, James Mark Dagro and Amy Marie Dagro, and his granddaughter Ariane Mallick. As parents, Mark and Maria Antonieta Dagro instilled in their children the importance of education, empathy, and perseverance. Mark's love for his children knew no bounds, and he took great pride in witnessing their accomplishments and guiding them through life's challenges. His impact as a father will forever be cherished.
Mark had a passion for his hobbies which included bird watching, reading comic books, cheering for the New York Yankees and playing cards with his son.
Mark was dedicated to his career at the United States Department of Agriculture spanning 45 years and took pride in his professionalism and contributions to the agency. During his final 35 years at the agency, he rose through the ranks of the U.S.D.A. Professional Development Center in Frederick, MD where he retired as the Associate Executive Director.
Mark was known for his unwavering grit and compassion. He had an incredible ability to make those he cared for feel welcomed and valued. His caring nature and selfless attitude touched the lives of many, and he formed lifelong bonds with friends and coworkers. Mark's presence brought joy and comfort to those who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt.
A visitation will be held on June 17, 2023, at Resthaven Funeral Home & Crematory Inc, from 11 am to 12 pm, where family and friends can gather to pay their respects and celebrate Mark's life. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 12 pm, with burial to follow In Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The service will be an opportunity for all who loved Mark to come together and remember the beautiful moments they shared.
May Mark rest in eternal peace, knowing that his life made a difference and that he will be remembered with deep affection and gratitude.
