Mrs. Margaret E. Holland, 96, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2018, at Northampton Manor in Frederick. She was the wife of the late John Holland. Born in Frederick, Margaret was the daughter of the late Wallace Fredericks and Ruth (Thompson) Fredericks. She worked at the Peter Pan Inn in Urbana for many years, and was a lifelong member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Frederick as a Deaconess. Deaconess Margaret Holland served faithfully as a member of the Dorothy Allen Missionary Ministry. She traveled with the Missionaries attending the Lott Carey Foreign Missionary Baptist Convention to many different states such as Virginia, North Carolina, and Louisiana. She enjoyed attending the classes and workshops. Prior to her failing health, she would always make her way to the Missionary Ministry meetings, where she participated in all the activities and events. Her presence was missed when she was no longer able to attend the meetings. Each year, Deaconess Holland attended the United Baptist Missionary Convention in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a Life Time Member of the Women's Auxiliary and an active member of the Church Women United of Frederick, Maryland for many years. She was also, a member of the Madame CJ Walker Temple #509 of Frederick, MD. Many loved this special lady, she was faithful and fully committed in her service for the Lord. She always said, I won't complain because God has been good to me. She loved her word search books and putting puzzles together. She also, loved her trips to the Giant Eagle which turned into stopping and talking to anyone and everyone, who would listen. Mrs. Holland is survived by her nephew, Charles Johnson (Cynthia), nephew Gordon Johnson Sr. (Donna), Gordon Jr. and Samuel Johnson, niece Charlene Johnson-Baker (Dereck Baker Sr.), Derek Baker Jr. She was preceded in death by her devoted niece Delissa Johnson and cousin Ruthie Thompson who were her faithful caretakers. In addition, she leaves to mourn devoted cousins and caretakers, Roxena Worrell and Sandy Dorsey. The family will be present to receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 6430 Jefferson Pike, Frederick, MD 21703; where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. William H. Graham, Officiant. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Floral tributes are welcome, or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Missionary Baptist Church.
