Mrs. Lorraine DeVeau Weaver's Obituary
Lorraine Weaver died peacefully on Wednesday 5 June, just four days shy of her 91st birthday. She was the fifth of nine children born to Ann Beatrice (Muise) and John R DeVeau of Wakefield, Massachusetts.
Lorraine graduated from Wakefield High School and for most of her adult life she worked in the administrative section of hospitals in states where she and her husband lived in California, Oklahoma, and Maryland.
She retired from Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Gaithersburg but soon began working part-time and temporary positions in Frederick's local health agencies. Something Lorraine loved the most was spending time with her community of friends at her beloved parish, Saint Katharine Drexel (led by Fr. Keith Boisvert).
Lorraine is survived by her sister, Kay Whittington; her grandson, Donald Weaver Jr; her granddaughter, Allison Garrett (Willy); three great grandsons, Tyler, Layne, and Eric (Weaver); and three great granddaughters, Eliana, Amari, and Charlee (Innocents), as well as a myriad of aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy D. Weaver; her son Donald E. Weaver; four sisters, Mildred (Toth), Pearl (Sienkiewicz), Joan (Anderson), and Sandra; and three brothers, Arthur, Gerald, and Robert.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church (8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702) on Friday 21 June 2024 at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will be held in the church narthex after the Mass, with burial at Resthaven Cemetery to follow.
