Obituary
Emory Motter of Thurmont MD, died one day before his 98th birthday on January 25, 2018. He was the youngest of 9 children. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years Betty (Long) Motter of Graceham MD. He is survived by his son, Lewis Motter, and his wife, Nancy, from Fairfax VA; and his daughter, Denise, and her husband, Jim Mosher from Hagerstown MD. He had 7 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Emory was born and raised on a farm in Tom's Creek Md. He spent most of his career as Advertising Manager for Southern Oxygen Co in Bladensburg MD. He retired as the owner of Onan Generator Power Equipment Co. He moved to Thurmont in the mid 1980s where he enjoyed his retirement pursuing many hobbies, and being with friends and relatives. A memorial service for Emory will be held on Feb 3, 2018 at 11 am at the Graceham Moravian Church 8231-A Rocky Ridge Road, Thurmont, MD.
