Liz and I visited Uncle George and Aunt Elaine in the summer of 1990 when two of our children, Ben, and Rachel, were on a high school band trip to Baltimore.
The itinerary included a crab house in Maryland, an oyster bar in Annapolis, historic Williamsburg, a drive along the Delmarva Peninsula, and a short visit with Gordon at work on a construction site.
The trip also involved a visit to Washington DC. I remember how excited Elaine was to show us the sights as we walked around the Capitol area visiting the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, Union Station, the Smithsonian Museum, and the U.S. Capitol Building.
Liz and I were astonished that Elaine endured the excursion despite wearing high-heeled shoes – we recalled only one shoe had its heel intact.
Elaine had an incredibly enthusiastic personality. We are thankful for the time we spent with George and her.
Respectfully,
