I will miss Mr. Ed dearly. He has been a part of my life since I was in elementary school, and I have always admired his deep love for his family and his unwavering faith.
Mr. Ed is the reason I have roots in Florida. When he and Doris relocated there, I was only 15 years old, and it was heartbreaking for both Denise and me. So, as any loving father would do, he invited me to spend the summer with them in Florida. He generously paid for everything, including my very first airplane flight back to Maryland. That summer became the beginning of a tradition—I visited every year, sometimes more than once, and I always considered Ed, Doris, and the family my extended family.
I loved listening to his stories about growing up in Sabillasville, especially the tales of catching skunks and going to local dances. He also enjoyed sharing memories of his years at Martin Marietta with my husband, who worked there as well. Those conversations always brought a smile to his face.
I will never forget the kindness, generosity, and love he showed me and my family throughout the years. He was truly a remarkable man whose legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched. We will cherish the many wonderful memories we were blessed to share with him.
Rest peacefully, Ed. I hope you're dancing once again with your beloved Doris.
