Donald Murdoch Frame's Obituary
Donald Murdoch Frame, Jr., age 77, passed away in Gaithersburg, Maryland on December 12th, 2022 surrounded by family.
Born January 27,1945 in New York City, son of Donald Sr. and Katherine (Wygant) Frame, Don grew up in Manhattan, raised his family in New Hyde Park, NY, and settled in Maryland in 1999. He worked at Westat in Rockville, MD for over a decade, retiring in 2019.
Don is survived by his former wife, Patricia C. Frame of Germantown, MD; his brother James Frame (Jannik) of Braedenton, FL; his daughters Alison Humphrey (Todd) of Frederick, MD, Laura Cherny (Robert) of Worcester, MA and Celia Leeks (Paul) of Germantown, MD; grandchildren Noah, Eli and Stella Humphrey, River Cherny and Lae’lah and Maya Patterson; his longtime companion Pamela Kronenberg of Germantown, MD and numerous beloved friends and extended family, including his singing buddies. Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Don was a beloved Dad and “Poppy” (grandfather) who never knew a stranger, only friends he hadn’t met yet! He had a legendary sweet tooth, a colorful vocabulary and a beautiful baritone singing voice. He loved movies, music and thoroughly enjoyed a good joke even if he didn’t always tell it right! He sang a capella music with his dear friends for years, starting on the street corners in Harlem through years of family parties, church events and barbecues. His generosity of spirit was felt by all who were lucky enough to call him friend.
A private graveside service will be held in February at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. Relatives and friends are welcome at a celebration of life being held at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Frederick, MD on May 20, 2023.
