Donald Nicholas Craig's Obituary
Obituary
Donald Nicholas Craig, known to all as "Nick" passed away on September 18, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Born in Terre Haute, Indiana on January 7, 1947, he was the oldest son of Donald E. and Naomi A. Craig. Nick was a man of many talents. Trained in the Army as a medical technologist and Physician's Assistant, he was also a self-taught gourmet chef. Nick took courses at L'Academie de Cuisine and other culinary schools but most of his expertise was acquired working under experienced chefs and using his innate talent. After serving as a chef in local restaurants, Nick was proud to open Epicurean Enterprises, one of the first gourmet catering firms in Frederick. When his career as a chef began to interfere with his family time at home, Nick returned to medicine. He became one of the first certified travel medicine specialists in Maryland and opened Travel Health Services on Solarex Court in Frederick. His passion for business ended only when his health began to decline in 2013. Nick is survived by the five girls he loved dearly; his wife of 49 years; Kay Lutz Craig, his daughter; Jennifer A. Milsovic (Craig), his granddaughters; Samantha Kay and Sophie Lynn Milsovic and his sister; Mary Jane Tramontana. He is also survived by a brother; Roger Craig and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a private memorial service at a later date. Donations in Nick's name may be made to the Hospice of Frederick County, 516 Trail Ave, Ste C, Frederick, MD 21701.
