David Edgar Meadows' Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David "Igor" Edgar Meadows on March 22, 2024, in Frederick, Maryland.
Born on October 26, 1949 in Albany, Georgia to the late Lamar Meadows and Wynella Meadows nee Stapler, David leaves behind a lasting legacy of honor, dedication, humor, and love.
A man of many accomplishments, pranks and jokes, David was perpetually positive. He was a New York Times best-selling author, a man who loved his country, and a decorated naval captain. David's life was defined by his unwavering dedication to his family and his country. He was the beloved husband of Felicity Meadows for 47 years and a cherished father to his children Sara and Nick. His family and friends meant everything to him and his steadfast love and support enriched their lives beyond measure.
Throughout his esteemed 35-year military career rising from enlisted to the rank of Captain (USN), David earned numerous accolades, including the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Air Medal, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, National Defense Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, and Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on April 5, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home & Crematory Inc, located at 9501B Catoctin Mtn Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701, from 10 am to 12 pm. The funeral service will commence at 12 pm, followed by burial with military honors at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, where David will be laid to rest in recognition of his honorable service to the nation.
David's legacy of loyalty, honor, and courage will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace, Fair Winds & Following Seas.
