Charmaine Marcia Francis' Obituary
Charmaine Marcia Francis was born on April 7, 1965, in Kingston, Jamaica, to Mr. Rennie Howard Reynolds and the late Carol Reynolds. Charmaine was raised in Kingston, Jamaica.
Charmaine was educated in Jamaica, where she graduated from Excelsior High School. She was employed by Cherry Types in Jamaica before relocating to the United States in 1993. She pursued higher education at Southern New Hampshire University and the University of Phoenix, earning a master’s degree in forensic accounting.
After moving to the United States, Charmaine worked as a Montgomery County Public School Transportation supervisor. She was also a dedicated real estate agent with Home Resource Realty.
On June 25, 1988, Charmaine married Leonard Francis, and from this union, they were blessed with three wonderful children: Francisco, Shantelle, and Shaneka.
Charmaine’s love for her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, was unparalleled. She loved to share the video of her grandson worshipping in church. She was a foster mom to five children and provided each with a loving home. She showered her foster children with warmth and generosity.
Charmaine dedicated her time to others through various activities like hiking, luncheons, and spa dates. Her celebrations were filled with love and great food during holidays, birthdays, graduations, or work events. She loved gardening and shared its produce generously. She supported St. Jude’s Foundation with annual Christmas donations and sponsored a child in Burkina Faso, treasuring letters about the child's progress. Charmaine also lovingly cared for her husband and mother until their passing.
Charmaine dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and was baptized in 1979 at Faith Cathedral Deliverance Center in Jamaica. She and her mom were baptized on the same day. She later became a member of Evangel Church, Upper Marlboro, MD. Charmaine followed God's call and joined the Sheperd’s House International Christian Church (TSHICC) under the leadership of Senior Pastor R. Kevin Matthews, where she was a faithful and committed member. She regularly made long journeys from her home to church services. She attended TSHICC’s Master Life Program, an on-line nine-month developmental discipling class.
Charmaine had a passion for sports. She took great pleasure in supporting the fastest runners in track and field as we know it, Jamaicans, and appreciated wearing the attire of her preferred football team, the Commanders.
Charmaine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Francis; her mother, Carol Reynolds; and her brother, Patrick Reynolds.
Among those left to cherish Charmaine’s memory are her father, Rennie Reynolds; three children, Francisco, Shantelle, and Shaneka Francis; two grandchildren, Kamari Williams and Kai Francis; five brothers, Milton, Dewayne, Tyrone, Leighton, and Daniel Reynolds; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Charmaine will always be remembered and dearly missed.
