Charmaine was my closest friend, sharing both our joys and sorrows. Our friendship began when I was just 10 years old, and she was consistently kind and supportive. Some of my most cherished memories are of us singing worship songs praising God. She was there when I met my husband, at the birth of my sons, and both my graduation and my daughter’s graduation. She attended my cousin’s installation as a pastor, and we celebrated countless birthdays, Christmases, Thanksgiving, Independence Days, and, of course, Easter with Escovitch Fish and bun and cheese. We cheered for Jamaica during track and field events, and she proudly represented our country at my children's International Day events. We had many meetings and prayed together regarding her illness and treatment options with her doctors. Surrounded by myself, her children, other family, and close friends, Charmaine peacefully departed this world at Shady Grove Hospital and is resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
