I had the privilege of meeting Charlie while volunteering in the facility, where I spent time visiting residents. My daughter Kimberly was his speech therapist, and together we grew very fond of him. He always greeted us with a smile—and often with special snacks just for her. Even with the challenges he faced in his speech, his eyes were bright and full of life, always reflecting his warm spirit.
One of the sweetest surprises was discovering that he and Kimberly shared the same birthday. It was a small but meaningful connection that made their bond feel even more special during her first year of working.
I’m grateful to the Lord for the warm relationship they formed. Charlie truly enjoyed his rehab activities and approached them with determination and good humor. He overcame many health challenges with a strength that was inspiring to witness.
I will always remember Charlie’s kindness, resilience, and the gentle joy he brought into the room. He was a blessing to us, and his spirit will be fondly remembered.
