Callie Oakes McAdams, 95, of Frederick, Maryland passed away on October 4, 2018. She was the wife of the late Marion C. McAdams. Born on November 28,1922 in Virginia to Arthur and Annie Oakes but spent much of her life in North Carolina, ultimately moving to Frederick in 1996. Callie was a devoted and loving mother and wife and is survived by two daughters Ceceilia McAdams Baker (Lanny) and Cheryl McAdams Fearnow. 3 grandchildren; Melissa Austin (Brian), Cathryn Parks Rinehart (Luke), and Joseph H. Kraus III (Beth) and six great-grandchildren. Callie was a talented cook, crafter and seamstress. She was loved and respected by many for her keen sense of humor, but best remembered as an avid reader of poetry, scripture, news, music and her political passion. She was loved by all that knew her and will be missed not only by her family but an abundance of friends! As sung by her favorite musician, Nat King Cole, Callie was "unforgettable". There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 20th at 11:00 am at Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD with Pastor John Armstrong Jr. of Faith Reformed Presbyterian Church officiating. Inurnment in the Garden of Veterans at Resthaven Memorial Gardens will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dementia Society of America (www.dementiasociety.org) or the Multiple Myeloma research (www.themmrf.org.) or the charity of one's choice.
