I will miss Callie and the many stories she shared with me about growing up in North Carolina during the depression and the dramatic years of World War II when she came to Baltimore. She was living proof of the greatness of her generation: hard working, unassuming, and loyal. While she never attended college, her pattern of speech and etiquette were pleasing to anyone in her presence. She did, however, possess the ability to put you in your place when she was offended. This combination of civility and candor made her a most interesting lady. May our paths cross on the other side.
