Mr. William "Rick" "Yaeatyet" Hormes, Jr., 58, of Mountaindale passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on October 18, 2016. He was the loving husband of Brenda Sue Hormes for 30 years. He was born on March 17, 1958 in Frederick, MD to the late William, Sr. and Queba Stymiest Hormes. Rick a graduate of Walkersville High School Class of 1976 where he then enlisted in the United States Army. He loved to ride motorcycles and was a member of the US Military Vets Central Maryland Motorcycle Club. He was a member of the Thurmont Amvets Post 7 and Woodsboro SAL Squadron Post 282. He worked for the City of Frederick Building and Maintenance Department and in his spare time he loved to play guitar, camp, and fish. He loved watching the History Channel and taking motorcycle rides to Military Vet functions. His greatest joy was playing with his grandkids and spending time with his many friends and family many of them he enjoyed a cold beverage with. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children; Bill Hormes and wife Jennifer, and Heather Hupp and fiance Todd Lewis. Grandchildren; Emma, Adalynne, Alyssa, and Jake. Brothers; Anthony Stymiest and wife Larke, and Geary Hormes and wife Linda. Sister; Denise Morsberger. He will be remembered by his in-laws and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 22nd from 10:30 AM until 1:30 PM where a Remembrance Service will begin at 12:30 PM. Military Honors will be rendered at 1 PM.
