He is going to be deeply missed by those privileged enough to know him.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Sara B. Compton; son William E. “Eddie” Compton Jr. and wife Tricia of Hedgesville, WV; daughter Jessica M. Ketterman and life partner Ronnie of Sabillasville, MD; stepson Dustin Duley of Waynesboro, PA; stepdaughter Stacey Crawford and husband Donald of Libertytown, MD; brother Robert A. Compton and wife Ruth of Brookfield, NH; brother John E. Compton Jr. and wife Lisa of Glen Allen, VA; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson; and his beloved dogs Taz and Shadow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 great-granddaughter.
Internment will be private at Resthaven Memorial Garden & Funeral Home in Frederick, MD. Family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in his memory, to the Lewistown District Volunteer Fire Department, 11101 Hessong Bridge Road, Thurmont, MD 21788.
