William E. Barry, Jr., of Middletown, MD., passed away on April 3, 2017Born in Eckhart Mines, MD on July 28, 1932 he was a son of the late William Sr. and Clementine Ward Barry. He is survived by his loving wife Helen and three sons: Mark (wife Cindy, son Matthew, and daughter Meaghan), Steve (son Kyle), and Chris (wife Tina and son Patrick). William graduated from Beall High School, Frostburg State University, and Western Maryland College. He also played saxophone and clarinet in a dance band. William served four years in the U.S. Navy, including time aboard the U.S.S. Cabot aircraft carrier in the Koran War. After his service, he worked in Frederick County as a school teacher, principal, and supervisor of personnel until his retirement. During retirement, William and Helen belonged to a dance club and took many enjoyable bus trips all over the U.S. and Canada. We will greatly miss our wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.The family will receive friends on Friday April 7 from 10 AM until 11:30 AM at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be held 1 PM on Friday April 7 at the chapel mausoleum in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Deacon George Sisson of Holy Family Cathoic Community Church will officate.
