Mr. Wilford Eugene "Will" Burdette, 81, of Mount Pleasant, passed away at home on March 9, 2017 after a brief battle with cancer. He was the husband of Doris Burdette, his wife of 55 years. Born in Carroll County, Will was the son of the late Melvin and Sarah Burdette. Mr. Burdette served in the U.S. Army from 1958 - 1960, and worked as a truck driver for many years, including 30 years at Meadows Van and Storage . He loved fishing, especially at night from Chain Bridge over the Potomac River. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Burdette is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Burdette and Rhonda McLucas; five grandchildren, Marcos Herrera, Michelle McLucas, Kara Morrissey, Samuel McLucas, and Dennis Carpenter; two great-grandchildren, Kylie Heerd and Julian Herrera; two sisters, Beatrice Wright and Marion Bowers, three brothers, Stanley Burdette, Paul Burdette, and Jim Burdette; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, March 16th at 11 am in the Garden of Memory I at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick.
