Wesley Colvin Reeves, 74, went to be with the Jesus on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his home with his wife of 50 years by his side.Wes was born July 27, 1942 to the late Clarence Emmett and Mary Elizabeth Craven Reeves in Baxley, Georgia.He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and his brothers, Erwin Reeves and Darwyn Reeves and wife, Hilda, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel and Arlene. Also brothers-in-law, Farley and Junior and sister-in-law, Gladys.Wes was in the United States Marine Corp from 1960-1965. In 1967, he came to Frederick to help build the cable vision system and then went to work for Potomac Edison. He retired from the company after 37 years.Wes was an avid archer and dearly loved the sport. He was a member of the Tuscarora Archery Club for over 35 years. He participated in target tournaments in numerous states on the east coast and won numerous Maryland State Championship Awards over the years. He was also a member of the Isaac Walton League.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville.Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017 at the funeral home in Walkersville. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stauffer Funeral Home in Walkersville.
