Wanda LeRue Moore's Obituary
Obituary
Wanda LeRue Moore of Frederick, MD went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Ballenger Creek Center, Frederick, MD, after dealing with with a lengthy illness. Born on New Year's Day in 1947, she was destined to be a special person and do very special things. She was the oldest daughter to Anna Ambush and the late Richard Ambush. After graduating from Frederick High School with the class of 1964, she moved to Washington, DC and studied at Washington Technical Institute where she earned an Associate Degree. She was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church, but while living in Washington, DC she attended the First Church of Christ where she loved being part of the Women's Missionary. She was a devoted member of both churches. Wanda had a very successful career in Finance. Accounting was her passion. She worked primarily for non-profit organizations where she could make a difference. She was a hard worker, and an amazing numbers-cruncher, who took pride in her work. Wherever she worked, her reputation always preceded her. She was a tough but fair manager, her staff fiercely loyal and devoted to her, often following her from one job to the next. Wanda loved to travel and took many trips with her mother and daughter Patty, whom share fond memories. It was important for her to share good times with her mother because she was an inspirational part of her life's' successes. She also traveled extensively with her jobs, from San Francisco to New York City. Arguably her most memorable trip was to Kenya where she worked side by side with missionaries for humanitarian-based efforts. In addition to travel, Wanda was one who loved arts and crafts. Her taste for flair is reflected in her elaborate decorations in her beautiful home, her clothing and jewelry, and table decorations for countless events for others. But most of all, Wanda enjoyed time spent with family, often talking about her childhood memories with her brother and sisters and the fun she had with family as they were growing up. She shared a special bond with her siblings, especially her brother Donny who kept her spirits up through her most difficult times. Her grandsons always brought her so much joy, she would often tell funny stories about their visits together. Left to cherish her memory is: her devoted daughter, Patricia and son-in-law Gregory Lee; three grandchildren, Gregory, Jr., Brandon, and Jaden, all of Dayton, NJ; brother, Donny Ambush (Georgette); sisters, Marylee Moore and Marilyn Parker (Kenyon), nephew, Omar Crawford (Leticia) of PA; niece, Brittany Ambush all of Frederick, MD, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended in-law family, and friends. Wanda will be remembered as a bright, shining light in the lives of those she touched. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Ms. Wanda LeRue Moore please visit our Sympathy Store.
