Walter C. Robinson's Obituary
Mr. Walter C Robinson, 97, of Frederick, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Adler Capital Caring Center on January 28, 2025. He was the loving husband of Lela Mae Robinson, his wife of 71 years who passed on October 28th of 2023.
Born February 2, 1927, in Newport News Virginia, “Pat” was the son of the late Walter C Jr and Viola Robinson.
He was a graduate of the Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice school and Merchant Marine academy. He served in the U.S. Army as part of the Occupational Forces in Japan following the Second World War. “Pat” is a graduate of the University of Virginia Class of 1947. He was later recalled to serve in the Korean War and met his future wife when they were both stationed at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. After their military service, Mr. and Mrs. Robinson returned to civilian life and raised their family.
He began working for the C&P telephone company in 1953 as an accountant and retired over 30years later.
Mr. Robinson was a Life member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, and Lions Club. He was a 4th Degree member Knights of Columbus. He loved his tennis, walking and poker. Mr. Robinson and his late wife have been longtime parishioners of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Walkersville.
Pat, Mr. Robinson is survived by three sons, Thomas Robinson, Michael Robinson & his wife Cloris, and Patrick Robinson & his wife Amy; grandsons, Tommy and Christopher Robinson; a great-grandson, Nicholas; two great-granddaughters, Aowyn and Ayla, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
Visitation will be held on February 6, from 5-7 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 7th at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 8651 Biggs Ford Road in Walkersville. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church.
