Walter Harley's Obituary
With Deepest sorrow, we announce the passing of Walter "Sonny" Alan Stewart Harley. He died Tuesday, September 19th at Meritus Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 84. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family.
Sonny was born May 20th, 1939 in Frederick Md.
He was a kind, loving and hardworking man who loved hanging out with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. During his lifetime he was a skilled mechanic and truck driver and enjoyed spending time in the garage with his sons and watching Nascar races on Sundays.
Sonny is survived by the love of his life Sandra, to whom he was married for sixty years; two sons, Jay Harley and wife Kristi of Brunswick and William Harley and wife Lauri of Thurmont; grandchildren, Jeremy, Mason and Sierra; great grandchildren Starla, Angel, Ryan, Waylon, Kenton and Bransen; his sister, Gloria Grimes and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Mary Harley, 15 siblings and his beloved grandson Dylan Harley.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 26 from 5pm-7pm at Resthaven funeral home located at 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick Md. A funeral service and interment will also be held at Resthaven on Wednesday, September 27th at 11 am.
