Wade V. Johnson's Obituary
Mr. Wade Vernon "Wick" Johnson,86,of Ijamsville, passed away at home on September 28,2024 surrounded by his loving family. He is predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Frances "Sally" Johnson.
Born November 10,1937 in Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert and Velma Johnson. He attended Damascus High School. He retired in 1995 from the Department of Treasury after 29 years as a Bookbinder.
Wade enjoyed watching sports. He cheered on his favorite NASCAR driver Bill Elliott, his favorite football team the Miami Dolphins and his favorite baseball team the Philadelphia Phillies. He enjoyed camping and fishing at Point Lookout, MD, especially catching flounder. If he wasn't at the bay he would be on the river fishing.
Wade is survived by his three children, Vickie Lamm and husband Dennis, Vernon Johnson and Carlton Johnson; a sister Opal Monroe; four granddaughters, Angie Kauffman and husband Jeff, Shellie Jenrette and husband Marcus, Sabrina Johnson and partner Danny, Brittanie Lamm and partner Jeremy; eleven great-grandchildren, Jesse, Loran, AJ, Zariah, Keyara, Markie, Avery, Nevaeh, Koltyn, Kayden, and Gabby. In addition to his wife and parents, he is predeceased by four brothers Douglas, James, Richard and George.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 7 from 11:00am-12:00pm at Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, MD where funeral services will begin at 12:00pm. Funeral procession and entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at Resthaven. The Rev. Dave Brown will officiate. Floral tributes are welcome or donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County.
