Vera Jean Brant's Obituary
Vera Jean Brant (nee Weicht), 96, of Frederick, MD passed away peacefully at her residence on February 16, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1928 in Bedford County, PA to Robert Weicht and Grace Newhouse.
Vera overcame many obstacles in her early, formative years but moved on and settled into suburban home life after high school graduation with her husband, the late Irvin Brant, and her two children, Terry Brant and Cindy Quin (nee Brant). She was a hard worker and enjoyed her time working at Governor Thomas Johnson High School. She also worked at the Board of Education and the Frederick Memorial Hospital for many years.
She will always be remembered for her bright and inviting smile, sweet personality, and the warm hugs she would lovingly give to her grandchildren. Her home brewed sweet tea was a family favorite and matched by no one. Vera will be greatly missed by her loved ones, but they have peace knowing she is now with her Lord in Heaven above.
Vera is survived by her daughter Cindy Brant Quin of Frederick, MD; her grandchildren: Amy Brant Tewksbury, Kristina Brant, Jennifer Quin Stiles, and Clayton Quin; as well as her great grandchildren: Thomas Tewksbury, Dylan Tewksbury and Eli Stiles. She was predeceased by her husband, Irvin Brant, and son, Terry Brant.
A celebration of life service will be held privately for her family; however, fond memories from the past and warm condolences are welcome to be mailed to her granddaughter Amy Brant Tewksbury at 620 Wayland Road Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
