New, Tyler Michael's Obituary
It is with a broken heart that we announce the passing of our son Tyler Michael New, 28 of Rocky Ridge, MD. He passed away suddenly at home on the morning of April 27, 2025. Born at Frederick Memorial Hosptial on November 12, 1996, at 4:29pm. Tyler was the center of his mother’s world. On August 6, 2013, at the age of 16, Tyler was severely injured in a car accident as a passenger. Tyler was left with an incomplete C7 spinal cord injury that paralyzed him from the chest down. That injury confined him to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. The following year, with the help of his mother, Tyler graduated and received his high school diploma. Tyler’s mother was always by his side and devoted her life to caring for him every day. They had a very special bond together. Tyler loved to hunt, target shoot, play Xbox, watch old history documentaries and hang out with friends and family. He especially loved to hang out with his brother (Robert) and play jokes on each other.
For the next several years, Tyler struggled every day with nerve pain and health complications including several bouts of sepsis until sadly he took his own life.
Tyler leaves behind his heartbroken family; his loving parents Kevin & Angela (Flanary) Albaugh, special brother Robert Albaugh and girlfriend Chasity, all from Rocky Ridge, MD. Maternal grandparents Kyle & Sandra Wood of Hagerstown, MD. Paternal grandparents John & Brenda Barron of Harrison, AR. Many special uncles and aunts; Mike Flanary, Ed & Linda Northrup, Alan & Bonny Hurley, Jimmy & Susie Crum and Ryan Harris. Many special cousins; Marissa & Mike Barnett, Luna Barnett, Christina Hurley, Kayla Flanary & Jeff Renfro, Lane Renfro, Gracie Flanary, Adelaide Flanary, Donnie & Kelly Schildt, Kaitlyn Schildt and Thomas Harris. Tyler also leaves behind his best friend of many years, Tevin Young. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Austin (Eddie) Abrecht Jr., great grandmother, Linda (Nannie) Harris and his beloved cat Lucy.
Tyler will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. Burial will be private and lead by a special family friend, Jerry Free. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
