Timothy Edward Lynn's Obituary
Timothy Edward Lynn, 69, of Tampa, Florida passed away peacefully at home on April 3, 2026, surrounded by the comfort of the life and love he built, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.
Tim was born on August 24, 1956, in Maryland to Don Lynn and Jane Angell Miers, and spent his early years growing up in Thurmont. Those who knew Tim would tell you he was always full of energy, curiosity, and a spark that drew people in; a trait that stayed with him throughout his life.
He followed many different paths over the years, never afraid of hard work or new opportunities, but spent much of his career in property management in Montgomery County, Maryland. No matter what the job, Tim gave it his all. He believed in showing up, lending a hand, and doing things the right way a work ethic that earned him respect everywhere he went.
To describe Tim by his work alone would miss the heart of who he truly was.
Tim was, above all, a family man a devoted husband, proud father, beloved “Papi,” and loyal friend. He had a way of making life feel lighter and more joyful. Whether he was playing a game of pool, out on the slopes skiing, camping under the stars, or cruising around Tampa Bay on his boat, Tim found happiness in the simple pleasures. After his retirement, he and his wife Mary shared a deep love for nature, taking long walks, watching birds, chasing sunsets, and even raising butterflies. These examples show his quiet reflection and appreciation for life’s small wonders.
Then, there was his humor.
Tim had a gift for laughter. He could walk into a room and, before long, have everyone smiling and laughing. He was the life of the party, the storyteller, the one who made strangers feel like old friends. He had a way of connecting with people that was genuine and effortless, because at his core, Tim simply loved people. To know him truly was to love him.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Mary Hull Lynn; his daughters, Heather Remmell (John) and Rebecca Lynn; and his stepdaughters, Mellisa Rosario (Jose), Liz Winters, and Michelle Hudson (Chase). He also leaves behind a legacy in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy. Tim is further survived by his sisters Debbie Robinson, Theresa Fowler, and Toni Turner, and his brothers Clinton Miers and Nicholas Miers Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don Lynn and Jane Angell Miers; his stepfather, Nicholas Miers; and his brother, Kevin Miers.
Though Tim is no longer with us, his laughter, his kindness, and the countless memories he created will live on in all who were lucky enough to know him. His was a life well lived, and he will be deeply missed, always remembered, and forever loved.
How I wish, how I wish you were here We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl, year after year Running over the same old ground What have we found? The same old fears Wish you were here – Pink Floyd
Tim wished for his final resting place to be alongside his parents, Jane and Nick Miers, and his brother, Kevin Miers, at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend his memorial service:
Friday, June 12, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Resthaven Funeral Home 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy Frederick, MD 21701
A celebration of Tim’s life will follow immediately after the service at his daughter’s home, where loved ones will gather to share stories, laughter, and memories, just as he would have wanted. Additional details will be shared privately.
