Thomas Tobery Sr.'s Obituary
Tom Tobery, Sr., 87, of Frederick passed away quietly on August 8, 2025 with his daughter by his side.
He was born in Frederick on June 13, 1938 to the late Charles and Claudia Sier Tobery where he lived until the last year. He had been residing at Seaton Community in Hagerstown, MD. He loved and tormented the staff.
He was preceded in death by his wife Judy in 2021. They were married in 1959. She was the love of his life.
Tom worked as a carpenter his entire adult life. He retired in 2002 from Kettler Bros. He loved using his hands to build things. He also loved his garden and being with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Tammy Eyler and Dale of Frederick, Laurie Rutherford and Kenny of Cascade, Thomas Tobery Jr of Thurmont, Greg Tobery and Christina of Apoka, Florida, and Chris Tobery of Frederick; Grandchildren: Lewis Parks, Jr., and Jamie of Frederick, Caitlin Kitzwegar and Sebastian of Austria, Connor Tobery of Jefferson, Zachary Fowler and Jessica of Frederick, Kelsie Chambers and fiance Matt Nesbitt of Waynesboro, PA. Great-granchildren Johanna and Franziska Kitzwegar, and great grandbaby Fowler on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Besides his wife and parents Tom is predeceased by a daughter Dina Christine Tobery. He is also predeceased by five brothers and five sisters. He was the last of 11 children.
He will be greatly missed by his family and the great staff at Seaton and many friends he made. A special thank you to Hospice of Washington County MD and the care team he had.
Services for Thomas Tobery, Sr., will be held at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD on Thursday, August 14. The viewing will be held from 10 am to 11 am with the funeral service to follow.
