Obituary
Theodora “Terry” Toms, age 59, passed away peacefully at her home in Ranson, WV on Thursday, June 23, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her husband Schley Toms III, of 40 years, was by her side for every moment of her fight.
Born October 15, 1962 in Washington DC, Daughter of late Stavros Kominos and Afrodite (Genovezos) Kominos. She lived much of her adult life in Frederick and Washington counties in Maryland and worked as a bookkeeper for her entire career. Terry was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her life, she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her children and grandchildren. Terry was a dependable friend who loved to spend time and laugh with her loved ones as often as possible. Terry loved animals of all kinds but dogs especially. She had a huge heart and donated regularly to many animal, children’s, and veterans charities.
Terry is survived by her husband, Schley Toms III. Her brothers Dennis Kominos and Pete Kominos. Her children Nicole Painter and her husband Branden and Brian Toms. Her grandchildren Dylan Painter, Bryce Painter, Thea Kimmel-Carlson, Declan Toms, and Roman Toms. Terry is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she adored.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center, 9501-B Catoctin Mountain Hwy. (Rte.15) Frederick, Maryland 21701. A funeral liturgy will be offered on FRIDAY, July 1, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 920 W. 7th Street, Frederick, MD. 21701. Interment Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Rte. 15.
