Thelma Elaine Poole, 93, passed away at home on October 19, 2016. Born on December 6, 1922 in Frederick, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Louise Fox. Thelma was a lifelong member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She was a fan of the Orioles and always ready for travel or shopping trips. She worked at a variety of jobs in her life, but her most rewarding was in the nursing field at Suburban Hospital and Frederick Memorial Hospital. Later her most enjoyable times were caring for her grandchildren. Thelma is survived by her daughters, Sandra Poole and fiance Carl Baker, and Carol Putman and husband Ronald Putman with whom she lived; grandchildren Ronni Putman and Dustin Putman; great grandchildren Tyler Griffin, Bailey Griffin and Josh Griffin; and sisters Betty Fox and Rose Sine. She was preceded in death by her son, Samuel Poole, Jr.; grandson Rhudel Putman II; brother Niles Fox; sisters June Grable and Peggy Flowers; ex-husband Samuel Poole Sr.; and best friend Florence Nusz. In accordance with her wishes, there will be a private family graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, P.O.
