Mrs. Thelma Ida DiBenedetto, 86, of Walkersville, passed away on August 17, 2018. She was the wife of the late Antonio DiBenedetto, who passed in 2010 after 59 years of marriage. Born in Middletown, MD, Thelma was the daughter of the late Guy Hamilton Adkins, Sr. and the late Olive Mae Fastnaught, and stepdaughter of the late William Fastnaught. She moved to Washington, DC as a teenager and graduated from Chamberlain High School, where she and her husband met. Thelma was a meticulous housekeeper and an excellent cook. She enjoyed family gatherings and visits from friends, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. DiBenedetto is survived by her son, Mark DiBenedetto & his wife Ramona DiBenedetto; daughter, Susan Lupinetti and husband Dan Lupinetti; grandchildren, Antonio DiBenedetto, Daniel Lupinetti & wife Jennifer, Jonathan Lupinetti, Jenna Lupinetti, David Lupinetti, Rachel Feltkamp & husband Justin; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held from 6 - 8 PM on Tuesday, August 21st at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick, where a funeral service will take place at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, August 22nd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org) or to the Alzheimer's Foundation (alzfdn.org).
