Ms. Susan Ann Miller's Obituary
Susan “Susie” Ann (Snyder) Miller passed away peacefully at home on the evening of October 10, 2024, from natural causes. Susan’s kind and gentle soul was ushered into heaven under the Aurora Borealis night sky. She was born July 15, 1946, the daughter of former Haller R. and Thelma M. Snyder. She had one brother Richard L. Snyder and former husbands Raymond Stone, Royce Watkins, and Herald Miller who preceded her in death. Though she spent the majority of her life in Libertytown, Maryland, she spent her final years residing with her daughter on the Eastern Shore in Stevensville, Maryland.
Susan graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland. She attended Montgomery College and worked as a journalist for the local newspaper. She established her career as a COBOL and Fortran programmer working for GE and IBM to later become a civil servant of the federal government. Susan was an entrepreneur at heart and owned and operated her own businesses. She was an avid reader and treasured anything of historic value. Her passion was collecting and selling antiques, collectibles, and jewelry. When she wasn’t working, you could find her out ‘picking’ for that special antique. She had an eye for fashion and enjoyed music and dance, especially if it included The Beach Boys. Susan was deeply loved and her departure leaves behind a big void.
Susan is survived by her daughter Jeanene Stone, two nieces Lisa Morrison and Sandra Snyder, two nephews Richard Snyder and Joseph Snyder, and Noah (her cat).
Visitation is scheduled at noon with a service following on October 26, 2024, at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ASPCA or your local animal shelter.
