Obituary
Steven Lee "Choake" Warfield of Frederick, MD, was taken into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Feb. 24, 2017 at his home. Born July 28, 1950 in Woodbine, MD, he was the son of the late Walter & Elizabeth Warfield. Steven was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1968-1970. He worked in construction field as a cement mason for over 40 years, he was a loyal and hardworking employee. He is a lifetime member of the VFW-Post 3522, American Legion FSK Post 11 & member of AMVETS Post 2. Steven enjoyed the outdoors, music and spending time with his family and friends. Steven was predeceased by four brothers, Walter Jr., Kenneth, Nelson and Ronald Warfield and his daughter, Kendra Ellis-McGriff. Surviving is his four sisters, H. Elizabeth Spencer, Mary Warfield Clark, Judy Warfield and Jacqueline (Dale) Higgins, four brothers, Ernest (Ollia) Warfield, Raymond (Michelle) Warfield, Michael Warfield and Donald Warfield, many nieces, nephews and God children. Steven has fond memories and appreciation for Larry (Elsie)Miller and family, Shawn (Becky) Winpigler and family, Merhle "Shep" Miles, Tom Helms and the Veterans of the Hope Center at Martinsburg VA along with the caregivers from Hospice of the Panhandle. A viewing will be held at 11:00 am, followed by service at 12:00 pm on Saturday Mar. 4, 2017 at Strong Tower Christian Church, 467 W. Patrick St. Frederick. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Panhandle, in honor of Steven Warfield, www.hospiceotp.org.
