Sharon Darlene Stine's Obituary
Thurmont, Maryland - With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Darlene Stine, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who peacefully departed this world on August 9, 2023. Surrounded by her loved ones, she embarked on her eternal journey, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories. Sharon was born on January 13, 1959, to her father Richard Stonesifer and her late mother, Sonja of Thurmont, Maryland.
Sharon's life was a testament to the profound impact of love and family bonds. She is survived by her adoring husband, David Stine Sr, who stood by her side throughout life's journey. Their enduring love and unwavering commitment were a true inspiration to all who knew them.
Sharon's legacy lives on through her children: Kimberly Hanvey and her husband Jim of Biglerville, Chrissy Bussard of Tennessee, Keith Stine and his wife Sarah of Emmitsburg, and Cory Stine and his wife Devin of Thurmont. Her 16 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she lovingly embraced her role as "NanNan" to all, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Preceded in death by her mother, Sonja Frailey Blacksten, as well as her sisters, Mary Bowes and Terri Cawthorn, and her grandson Kyle Stine, Sharon faced life's challenges with grace and courage. Her memory serves as a reminder of the resilience of the human spirit.
Sharon's nurturing spirit and unwavering love defined her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the cornerstone of her family, and her warm embrace and sage advice will be deeply missed. Sharon found joy in the simplest pleasures, from playing bingo to watching her grandchildren grow. Her culinary skills were legendary, and her ham potpie, chili, fried squash, and holiday ham were family favorites that brought comfort and joy to every gathering.
To honor her memory, a visitation will be held on August 14, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. The funeral service will commence at 12:00 PM, followed by interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
As we say farewell to Sharon Darlene Stine, let us remember her as the embodiment of love, strength, and unwavering devotion. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
