Mrs. Sharon Lee Parmelee, 70, of Palmetto, Florida, formerly of, Liberytown, MD, passed away at Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida, on September 22. She was the loving wife of Douglas Parmelee for 52 years. Born December 15, 1944, in Washington, D.C., to the late Robert Lee Bussinger Jr. and Eileen Patricia Verna, and stepfather Luigi J. Verna. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, April L. Welsh and her husband Doug of Libertyown, David D. Parmelee and his wife Jennifer of Boonsboro, and Suzy M. Llewellyn and her husband Gerry of Thurmont. Her six grandchildren, Megan and husband Garrett Sparks, Josh Pastor, Brett Welsh and future wife Raleigh, Sophia Llewellyn, and Mitchell and Nicholas Parmelee. Sisters, Cindy and her husband Chuck, Jeannie; brother, Nick, sisters-in-law, Lynette and her late husband Jack, Shar and husband Bruce; and brother-in-law, Kevin. Her loving uncle, David L. Kline; and nieces, nephews and friends. Sherry was a former employee of the Frederick County Public Schools for many years and retired from the Manatee County School System in Florida in 2007. She was past president of the Ladies Axillary, Libertyown Fire Department. She was an honorably discharged veteran from the United States Air Force. Sherry loved making crafts, crocheting, painting, cooking, spending time at the beach, cruising, but most importantly spending time with her family. A visitation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. 15N in Frederick, MD. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, with interment to follow in the Garden of Veterans II at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Services in Florida will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in care of Douglas Parmelee, at 229 SW 43rd St., Cape Coral, Florida 33914, for her grandchildren's continuing education.
