Mrs. Sharon Braga Dodson's Obituary
Sharon Braga Dodson, known affectionately as Nana, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on September 28, 2024 in Rockville, MD at the age of 76. Born on October 15, 1947 in Plainview, TX, she dedicated over 40 years to medical service as a Registered Nurse and later as a Director of Surgical Services. Her professional life was marked by a deep commitment to the care of her patients and employees.
Sharon lived a life of service professionally but personally as well. She was a devoted Christian who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her family was the center of her world—cherishing her husband, her daughters and her grandchildren with every opportunity.
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Charles David Dodson; daughters, Stephanie Padilla and her husband, Larry and Natalie Marrero and her husband, Marc; grandchildren, Brielyn and Landen Marrero; and siblings, Kittrick Braga, Dana Braga, and Frances Tidmore. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, George Natale Braga and Mary Reams Braga.
Sharon had a passion for the simple joys of cooking, gardening, and finding the perfect Christmas gifts for her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family, playing card games and was a fierce competitor in Monopoly!
A graveside service to honor her life will be held on Friday, October 4th at 11:00am at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick, MD. Sharon’s life of service and love will leave a lasting legacy and an indelible mark.
