In Loving Memory of Sandra Lynn Moreland
Sandra Lynn Moreland, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on October 20, 2023, at approximately 10 pm. She was born in Collins, Georgia, on November 27, 1949, to her parents Roy Lynn and Myrtice Lynn. Sandra, affectionately known as "Sandy," led a rich and fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting legacy.
Sandy pursued a diverse career, working in various roles within the banking industry and real estate, where her dedication and professionalism shone brightly. However, her most cherished role was that of a wife and mother. On February 14, 1999, she married the love of her life, Thomas E. Moreland Jr., and their union was a testament to the power of love and commitment.
Sandy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for the beach, where the crashing waves and endless horizon provided solace and tranquility. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful gardens, where she nurtured and cultivated nature's beauty. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family, who meant the world to her.
Sandy's faith was an integral part of her life, and she generously shared her devotion with her community. She was actively involved in various churches, dedicating her time and talents to volunteer work in various capacities. Most recently, she found fulfillment in singing in the choir at Bethany Church in Ellicott City and participating in several Bible study groups, where her spiritual journey continued to flourish.
Sandy leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her close in their hearts. She is survived by her devoted husband, Thomas E. Moreland Jr., her daughter Pamela Mauck, and her son Randy Nelson. Pamela's husband, Christopher Mauck, and Randy's wife, Elizabeth Nelson, were not only family but also friends who shared in Sandy's love and warmth.
Sandy's legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren: Kaitylyn Mauck, Savannah Mauck, and Joe Mauck, whose lives were enriched by her wisdom and affection. She also leaves behind stepdaughters, Sherrie McKay, Cathy Pacheco, and Jenny Dock, along with their respective families, including Larry Pachecco, Chip Hunnings, Christian Vieth (Azalia Vieth), Zachary Vieth, Jessica McKay, Jonathan McKay, Jackson McKay, and Brady Pacheco.
Sandy's passing leaves a void in our lives, but her memory will forever be a source of inspiration and comfort. Her kindness, love, and unwavering faith have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.
A memorial service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held on Wednesday, October 25, at 10 am, at Bethany Church, 3030 Bethany Lane, Ellicott City, MD. At the service family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share their stories of the remarkable woman she was.
