Obituary
Samuel Edward Zattiero, age 73, a resident of Greenbriar Ln., the Pamlico Plantation Community, Washington, NC, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his home. Samuel was born in Pittsburgh on January 21, 1941 son of the late Samuel Zattiero and Betty Gessner Zattiero. He was a 1958 graduate of Brentwood High School in Pittsburgh and later graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was married to the former Rosemary Catherine Germann who survives. Samuel retired in 1995 after working in the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in Washington, DC. He served his country as a Capt. in the United States Air Force. From 1978 to 1982 Samuel served as Mayor of Poolsville, MD, a suburb of Washington, DC. He was also president and board member of Pamlico Plantation Home Owners Association. In addition to his wife, Rosemary Zattiero, Samuel is survived by his daughters, Michele of Plano, TX and Tiffany of Purcellville, VA; his sisters, Marilou Cathell of Whitehall, PA and Kathy Underlin of Redding, CA; his nieces, Nicole Compel Galie of Joppa, MD and Petra Compel of Pasedena, MD; and 10 grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the Pamlico Plantation Club House.
