Mr. Russell Gene Haak's Obituary
Mr. Russell Gene “Russ” Haak, 86, of Frederick, passed away on November 10, 2023 at Frederick Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of the late Susanne Faye Haak, who passed on January 5, 2016.
Born March 11, 1937 in Wisconsin, Russ was the son of the late Russell R. and Genevieve Haak. He retired from the U.S. Army after over 20 years of service, including three tours in Vietnam. After his retirement from the U.S. Army, Russ served several more years as a federal police officer at Ft. Detrick. He was an avid reader, and he loved black & white Western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne.
In addition to his loving wife Susanne, Russ was preceded in death by both his brothers, Richard and William. He is survived by four children, Russell (Robin), René (Paul), Jimmy (Stacy) and John; six grandchildren, Tony, Angie, Roger, Mikey, Josie and Damon; many great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
Inurnment will take place at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 20th at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy. in Frederick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any veterans’ assistance organization.
