Ruben Burnett September 20, 1919 - September 19, 2016 Ruben Burnett, 96, of Frederick, MD, peacefully departed this earth on September 19, 2016. Born September 20, 1919, in Stone Mountain, GA, to the late Rev. Robert and Jessie (Wilburn) Burnett. Ruben graduated from Lincoln High School in 1938 and attended Prince Anne Community College. He served in the Navy during WWII. When honorable discharged he worked at Navy Medical Institute later working as a Lab Tech at Fort Detrick for 25 years. He advanced his talents in the laboratory field to Walter Reed Hospital. After retiring from the government he worked for Hertz and Solarex. He enjoyed driving, traveling abroad, hunting, fishing, and watching football. One of his favorite past time was his mornings with the boys at McDonald's and Saturday's with Gloria for dinner. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Corinda O. Davis, Suisun, CA; adopted son, Charles E. Brown (Sharon), Frederick, MD; grandchildren, Michael Davis, Suisun, CA; and Carrie Brown and Christopher Brown, both of Frederick, MD; god-daughter, Evelyn Louise Boston, Potomac, MD; friend, Janet C. Foreman; devoted and dear companion and family, Gloria Weedon, Lynda Bowie (Kenny), Juanita Livingston (Steven), and Michael Weedon, all of Frederick, MD; 7 nieces; 6 nephews; and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Ruth Holmes; and sisters, Mildred Ridgley, Jessie Taylor, Alice Weedon, and Catherine Fields.
