Roy Orian Calloway, 92, of Rockville passed away on August 15, 2016. He was the loving husband of Alice Burrows Calloway for 70 years. Born August 11, 1924 to the late Roy W. Calloway and Elizabeth Mae Simpson, Roy was known as a "jack of all trades" who was self-taught as a mechanic, brick layer, truck driver and other occupations who did not retire until the age of 80. He was known to be willing to help anyone at any time, a man who was all heart, and loved by all. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking by making furniture, gardening, and blue grass music. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughters; Brenda Butt, Janine Roe and husband Stony, and Bonnie Butt and husband Charlie. Grandchildren; Lisa Calloway, Stephanie Rice and husband Todd, Jim Butt and wife Sarah, Rodney Carter and wife Alicia, Kevin Roe, Rick Calloway, Brian Butt, and Bonnie Jean Donaghy and husband Jimi. Great-grandchildren; Kayla Butt, Brittney Strausbough and husband Zach, Colin Carter, Emily Butt, Noah Rice, Jayden Butt, Eamon Donaghy, Connor Carter, and Kai Donaghy. Sisters; Thelma Twigg and husband Paul, and Dorothy Sutton. He was preceded in death by son; Rick Calloway. Son-in-law; Rick Butt. Sister; Charlotte Calloway. And Brothers; Melvin and Bill Calloway. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 19th from 11 AM- 12 PM with a service beginning at noon at the Historical Chapel at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick.
