Obituary
Roger Gayrard Jacobs of Monrovia, MD passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown at the age of 67. Born on November 3, 1948 in Great Falls, Montana, Roger was the eldest surviving son of Jeanne and the late Harold Jacobs. Roger was the loving husband of Denise M. (Robitaille) Jacobs; they celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary in August. In addition to his loving wife, Roger is survived by his son Brian Burbage and wife Rhonda, five grandchildren: Rachel, Austin, Dalton, Thomas, Willow, and Evan. Daughter Cathy Burbage and husband Clark, three grandchildren: Kylee, Caiden, and Camrie. Daughter Lauren Chhay and husband Rithy, three grandchildren: Jeremy, Christiana, and Kiernan. Daughter Katie Jacobs and fur-grandbabies, Brynn and Po. Sister MichAle Jacobs and husband Joe; Sister Carol Anne Kornhauser and husband Barry. Nephew Max and his wife Sena, Niece Ariel, and Nephew Sam; Brother David Jacobs; Sister Jen Strelser and husband Marc, and twin niece and nephew, Hannah and Nathan. In addition to his father, Roger was preceded in death by his brother, Francois; infant grandson, Matthew; and in-laws, Mary and Frank Robitaille. His love of driving led to a career spanning over 30 years as a truck driver for companies such as Coca Cola and Homerun. In his later years, he also enjoyed working at Deer Valley farm. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 15 at 1:00 PM at his home, family and friends are welcome. Inurnment will be private.
