Obituary
Mr. Rodney Howard McKenzie, 80, of Frederick, passed away peacefully on May 16th at Kline Hospice House with his family at his side. He was the devoted husband of Bonnie J. McKenzie, his wife of 34 years. Born in Meyersdale, PA, Rodney was the son of the late Howard and Vera Mckenzie. He was a 1956 graduate of Northern High School in Accident, Maryland. He was a longtime member and former Deacon at Ambassador Baptist Church in Frederick, and a Life Member of the NRA. He loved waterfowl hunting on the Eastern Shore, and raising goats on the family farm in Frederick County. In addition to his loving wife, Mr. McKenzie is survived by two daughters, Sue Crum & husband Wayne, and Jacqueline Weakley & husband Charles; one sister, Ellen Ann Kline & husband Roy; a sister-in-law, Sandy McKenzie; a daughter-in-law, Susan McKenzie; five grandchildren, Amy, Carly, Jessica, Stephanie, and Tammy; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne McKenzie, a son, Jeffrey McKenzie, and a grandson, Daniel Wright. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, May 20th at the Chapel Mausoleum of Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 U.S. Route 15 N in Frederick. Pastor Tom Fry of Ambassador Baptist Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kline Hospice House, P.O. Box 1799, Frederick, MD 21702.
