Rocky "Rockman/Rockstar" Collins' Obituary
Obituary
Rocky Collins Rocky "RockMan & RockStar" Collins crossed his rainbow bridge in a sea of love at his new home. Rocky, our first Old English Mastiff, was nine years and 3 months old to the date. Rocky lost a courageous battle with prostrate cancer which recently and aggressively metastasized to his kidneys. Rocky was surrounded by the love and care of his new family and friends. Rocky was known as a "gentle giant". However, he was mostly known as a "social butterfly". As he loved all things...he loved all cats, dogs, rabbits, squirrels -- any animal including humans. Rocky had a special place and connection with autistic children. He and the children "came alive" while in each other's presence. In his forever home, Rocky loved camping out on his deck with a cold water brew. Rocky loved, loved, loved his joys rides. Particularly, his special rides with his new buddy Ed who he is forever grateful for. Rocky loved the parks & the water where he could spend endless hours. Another one of Rocky's favorite things was helping his Mom with the Run. He delighted by a good ear rub particularly from his bud Alex. Rocky loved his bolster bed and was a consummate "couch potato". Rocky was christened by Pastor Jack Lohr at his pet blessing service. Rocky's first Mom lost her battle with cancer and my brother and sisters were sad. Rocky needed to be there for them in case they wanted a hug. After Rocky's first Mom got sick there was no time for him... she went to live with her Mom and his first dad was too busy to feed him and too tired to walk him. Rocky's first Mom's hospice nurse found his foster parents Nikki & Jason. She originally came to take him for a walk and where he tried to look his best. Rocky was severely underweight and undernourished. Rocky needed urgent medical attention. Nikki refused to take Rocky back and promised to find him a forever home where he would be loved and cherished. She told Rocky ..."Sweet Rocky you are SUCH a good boy...I know I came here to take your picture but I'm going to take you with me now. I know you don't understand but your daddy can not take care of you anymore...I'm going to show you a world where dog's slumber on carpets, fluffy beds and if you're lucky, COUCHES...a true dog's life. Rocky found all of these and more in his forever home. Where he enjoyed the life of a king. We miss you Rocky! Thanks for being our best friend. You are loved! RIP our friend...
