Robert Thomas Werking's Obituary
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Robert Thomas Werking, 61, who entered eternal rest on October 12, 2025, at his home in Kinston, North Carolina. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with Bulbar Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Born in Montgomery County, Maryland, Robert was a man of extraordinary ingenuity. His inventive spirit shone through everything, from mastering complex mechanics to constructing his own home. He was a dedicated fan of the Washington (Redskins) Commanders and loved to cook for his family. Robert shared an especially deep and tender bond with his beloved dog, Moose, who will miss him endlessly.
His greatest joy and enduring legacy are his four cherished daughters: Amber, Courtney, Kimberly, and Carly; along with a loving step-son Bobby. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Heavenn, Zaven, and Addisyn; his caring and compassionate sisters Deborah Humphrey and Carol Bowen; and his brothers Gary and Paul Werking.
Robert is joyfully reunited with his late parents, Thomas F. and Alda Tibbs Werking; his brother Thomas; his sister Terry; beloved nieces and nephew Jennifer, Brittany, Christy, and Jerry Jr.
Robert’s unique spirit, wit, and irreplaceable presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Rest Haven in Frederick, Maryland. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, with burial at 12:00 PM.
With enduring love and deepest remembrance,
The Werking Family
