Robert "Kenny" Myers' Obituary
Robert Kenneth Myers, age 74, passed away after a courageous 12-year battle with cancer on August 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Robert’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and loyalty.
Robert was born to the late Robert and Helen Myers on December 20, 1949. He shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Star Myers. Together, they built a family full of love and cherished memories. Robert is survived by his children, Tracie Horman, Duane Myers and his wife Jessica, and his granddaughter, Madison Myers, who was the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Myers and his wife Anne, as well as his sisters, Carol Norwood and Connie Wisner and her husband Steve.
Robert was preceded in death by his niece Polly Myers, nephew Stephen Wisner, and brother-in-law Charles Norwood.
A proud graduate of the first graduating class of Thomas Johnson High School in 1967, Robert also known as Kenny, went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the Army National Guard. He later built a successful career as an HVAC technician, known for his dedication and skill.
Kenny had a unique sense of humor and a remarkable ability to make everyone around him feel like family. He was the glue that kept his loved ones together, always finding ways to bring joy and laughter into their lives.
An avid outdoorsman, Robert had a passion for hunting—whether it was turkeys, squirrels, deer, or even a bear! He was also known for his love of gardening, constantly expanding his garden each year and proudly harvesting the first tomato of the season. Robert also had a deep love for baseball, playing in his youth and later coaching and playing softball, sharing his love for the game with others.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 6th at 1:00 at Mt Zion Lutheran Church 5709 Mt Phillip Rd, Frederick, MD 21703.
A celebration of life will held at a later date.
