Mr. Richard "Dick" Denton Morgan, 76, of Frederick, MD, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. Morgan. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 15, 2015. Born April 19, 1939 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Clayton E. & Lillian A. Morgan. Dick was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1957. He was a member of the Centennial Memorial United Methodist Church; past president, assistant treasurer, and active & life member of the Independent Hose Company #1 where he volunteered for the last 60 years. He was also a past Chief of the Citizens Truck Company #4. He enjoyed many a dinner with the "Wednesday Night Bunch" from the firehouse. Dick was an avid fisherman and hunter in his younger years. He worked for AT&T in Monrovia, MD and retired after 39 A½ years. Surviving in addition to his wife, are his daughter, Kimberly R. Morgan; three grandchildren, Michael Spurrier, Joshua Spurrier, and Erin S. Krstanovic; three great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Waylon Spurrier, and Peyton Krstanovic; nephew, Scott A. Morgan, niece, Kerri L. Rice, and great-nephews, Adam and Brian Morgan. He will be greatly missed by his grandpets, Grizzly, Elvis and Gabby. He will also be missed by his good friend, Martin "Marty" Fuller. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Phoebe M. Rice. The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, June 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 25 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Tim May officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
