Mr. Richard Stephan Kopp, Sr., 83, of Frederick, MD passed away Monday, August 15, 2016. He was the husband of Hazel Kopp. A a a Born June 1, 1933 in New Haven, CT he was the son of the late Walter R. and Sophie Stephan Kopp.A a a Richard was a 1951 graduate of Hopkins School, New Haven, CT and Trinity College in Hartford, CT. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959. Prior to his retirement, Richard worked at IBM for 25+ years where he worked with the NASA Gemini and Apollo Space Program. After Richard's retirement he and his family owned and operated Create-a-DataBase for 15 years. In his spare time he was involved with the Boy Scouts serving as Scout Master, he was involved with the Way Station of Frederick, Co., serving on the Board of Directors and also on the board for MHMA. A a a In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Richard S. Kopp, Jr. and Deidre A. Kopp; three grandchildren. A a a The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Thursday, August 18, 2016 from 4-7PM where a funeral service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 10AM at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14 W Pennsylvania Ave, Walkersville, MD 21793 Rev.
