Renato Esposo's Obituary
Renato ("Ray") O. Esposo sailed into the skies of heaven on May 17, 2024, at the age of 79.
He was born in Iba, Zambales, Philippines on December 17, 1944. Above all, Renato’s life was defined by his dedication to family and his ability to bring joy to those around him.
While attending college in Manila, he met and married his beloved wife, Rosalina. Together they embarked on a journey that took them across oceans and continents during 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Renato was a dedicated father to his four children, Arnel Esposo, Marifel Reboulet (Brian), Rena Cokun (Ugur), and Kristine Telford (Erik); and proud grandfather to his eight cherished grandchildren: Brian Jr., Allie, Logan, Matthew, Connor, Lee, Levent, and Liam.
He retired after a distinguished career at Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) as a senior water plant operator, where he was known for his unsurpassable work ethic, valued for his loyalty and dedication, and recognized for his innovative contributions that resulted in $600,000 of cost savings for the organization.
Renato's love for gardening and playing with his granddogs brought him immense joy. He was a familiar figure in his garden, nurturing plants and enjoying the outdoors. An avid news watcher, he often joked that it was "the same news, different channel," but beneath his effortless sense of humor laid the heart of a patriot who loved America and cared deeply about ensuring others could enjoy what this country afforded him: freedom and opportunity to earn his own success.
Armed with an endless supply of corny dad jokes and his contagious smile, he was a constant source of joy and laughter for his family, loved ones, and the strangers that he turned into fast friends wherever he went.
He will be memorialized and laid to rest at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD 21701. Visitations will be held on June 7, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM and June 8, 2024, from 10 AM to 11 AM. Funeral services will begin promptly at 11 AM on June 8, 2024, followed by interment and a celebration of life reception.
His legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty will live on in the hearts of those he touched. Renato will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
